Monterey bay is the largest marine sanctuary on the continent and one of the most pristine places on the pacific coast. Monterey bay is protected from the pacific swells and has wind daily with few exceptions.

Although Monterey Bay enjoys good to excellent sailing and diving conditions for approximately 350 days per year, conditions vary by season.  Land weather is also different from sea weather.  This is why we have links to the National Weather Service current land-based weather information as well as sea-based buoy weather information.

So even though it may be sunny and warm in Monterey, conditions will be cooler when you sail the bay.  Dress warmly in layers including a jacket which has some wind protection.
