Captain Paul’s Guide to Pacific Grove, CA
Ahoy there, fellow adventurers! Get ready for a maritime journey like no other in Pacific Grove. My name is Captain Paul, and this article’s purpose is to share with you my favorite things to do in Pacific Grove. Everyone can enjoy the activities on this list and these recommendations will give you and your family an unforgettable visit. I am a fortunate resident of this nautical haven, and I’m thrilled to share the treasures that define Pacific Grove’s coastal charm. Here are my top four recommendations!
-
Sail with me at Sail Monterey

Your first thing to do in Pacific Grove is to come visit me on the Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey! I have lots of fun activities at my office for all to enjoy including our free interactive knot tying station!
Interested in a boat ride? Book a sailing cruise on our new 37 ft catamaran, safe and fun for the whole family! As we set our sails on the majestic Monterey Bay, you will be served a complimentary beverage. Also, we are now serving Monterey Beer from Alvarado Street Brewery!
While cruising, keep your eyes peeled for whales, dolphins, seals, sea otters, and sea lions – the vibrant marine life with whom we share this amazing bay. Most importantly, take in epic views of the Monterey Peninsula and Pacific Grove from a unique perspective while we catch the wind in our sails.
One last note, Sail Monterey also offers sailing lessons, sailboat rentals and powerboat rentals; so we have something to do for everyone!

Tee Off at Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links

For you athletic landlubbers, swing into action at Pacific Grove Municipal Golf Links. This 18-hole course provides a challenging game coupled with incredible views of Pacific Grove. Of course, a few holes exhibit priceless views of the old lighthouse, and more on that to follow.
-
Explore the Point Pinos Lighthouse

Step back in time with a visit to Point Pinos Lighthouse, one of my absolute favorite places to visit in Pacific Grove. Constructed in 1855, Point Pinos Lighthouse stands as a sentinel of Pacific Grove’s maritime past. With a legacy spanning over a century, it is the oldest continuously operating lighthouse on the West Coast.
Through changing tides and shifting sands, this iconic beacon has faithfully guided seafarers navigating the waters along the rugged California coastline. That being said, I myself can attest to the lighthouse’s faithfulness. Countless times have I used the lighthouse to navigate my way home to Sail Monterey in the dark.

Stop by and say hi to my friend Corey at Pacific Grove Adventures at Lover’s Point. If you’re looking for activities in Pacific Grove, a bike ride or kayak rental is a must do! You’ll be pleased to know, Corey offers bicycle rentals, kayak rentals, snorkel rentals and more!
